Our Care

We aim to provide a `home from home` environment where resident s are supported and cared for by a dedicated, well trained team. Our philosophy is based on core values of trust, commitment, dignity & respect. and recognising and responding to individuality, Our staff are chosen for their qualities, values and attitudes. They follow a comprehensive training programmewhich gives them the skills, knowledge and understanding to carry out their care responsibilities so it is a positive experience for everyone.

Admissions

  • Call us on 01908 613386 and arrange a visit to look around the home to discuss your needs
  • Or visit us unannounced and we will always find time to chat to you and your family
  • An assessment will be carried out to enable us to provide the best care and support. This may be done in the place where you are living.
  • A trial period is then arranged where an individual careplan is created to ensure that we have the information to respond to specific needs and wishes of each resident. The resident and their representatives will be encouraged to take part in the care planning process.

Respite

Short term care can be offered should a bed become available at the time requested.

When full time care is needed, this experience can reassure a resident as they come somewhere that is familiar to them and is less daunting.

End of Life Care

Park House is a `Home for Life` and we are proud of how we support our residents in their last days. Tender loving care and basic nursing care is what is needed in a familiar, comfortable environment.

  • District Nurses, Doctors and the High Impact Team are there to support us 24 hours a day. They help us to put in place equipment, support and medication to ensure the resident’s pain is managed and they are with people they know and trust.
  • Relatives are supported at this difficult time and can spend time with their loved one in a homely environment.
  • Three Senior staff have completed their End of Life Diploma at Willen Hospice and two other staff have enrolled for the course.
  • Each resident is encouraged to complete an advanced care plan so that their wishes can be carried out.

Residential Care

We provide a home for 24 residents who have varied needs physically and mentally and are able to provide specialist equipment or access to professionals to support us.

Park House becomes their home and it is important that their bedroomis personalised to make each person feel comfortable with familiar items around them.

Family & friends are welcome to visit at any time and will always be offered refreshments.

Dementia Care

We provide a home for residents who have memory problems and who are coping with Dementia / Alzheimer’s disease.

  • Park House has been involved in the WHELD Research project with Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust. During a 9 month period ,we received support, training and implemented a programme of activity to improve the well-being of dementia care residents. This was monitored and we received very positive comments about our work with the residents.
  • All staff have training in dementia care and most have attended a dementia awareness experience.
  • Staff who have achieved or who are working towards their Diploma in Health & Social Care follow the Dementia Care Pathway route.
  • Two of our staff are Dementia champions.
  • We work closely with the Mental Health team who give us support and advice when needed.

We know that residents ‘well-being is improved through social interaction and activities and ensure this is a key part of their day.
